NOTICE TO Island Union Elementary School District (IUESD) Parents:

Kings County is on the State Monitoring List for COVID -19 & the Governor has directed us to start the year in Distance Learning.

At this time, we do not know how long we will remain in Distance Learning as it is all dependent on how successful our community will be in getting Kings County off the list.  If you are interested in seeing the County monitoring data use this link:

In hopes of being able to reopen at some point this school year and implement our IUESD Reopening Plan, we will have a survey available for you to let us know which of the options you plan to have your student(s) attend: Traditional- on campus, face to face learning, or Distance Learning.  This will help us with planning and staffing for possible reopening in the future.  We realize your choice may change by that time and we will work with you to adjust as needed.

In the coming weeks more information will be provided to you regarding issuing devices and materials to all IUESD students in grades TK - 8.

If you have a question or need assistance please contact the school office at 924-6424 or email Tracy Ordunez, clerk, at tracyordunez@island.k12.ca.us, or me, at charlottehines@island.k12.ca.us.

We are committed to providing your child a high quality, robust online learning experience.  Thank you for your support, patience, and understanding.  Please help the community get Kings County off the list so that we can have our students back on campus by wearing your mask, practice social distancing, and stay safe and healthy.
