IUESD Reopening Information
The CDPH Waiver has been released and the Island School Board of Trustees, as well as Supertendent Hines and the employees, cannot wait to be able to apply. We know the best place for students to learn is at school, in-person learning.
HOWEVER Please Note: CDPH recommends that elementary schools within jurisdictions with 14-day case rates more than two times the threshold to be on the County Monitoring List (>200 cases/100,000 population)should not be considered for a waiver to re-open in-person instruction. The current case rate in Kings County as of 10/21/20 is 4.6, and less than 8%, we are 2% positivity rate.
Based on this, KCDPH does not expect CDPH will grant final waiver approval until the 14 day case rate drops below 200/100,000 and remains stable or continues a downward trend
